I took a severance package from my old job because I needed a change but that doesn't stop me from being devastated at leaving. I've been there for TWELVE years, I pretty much grew up there and it was really hard leaving and knowing I won't be going through those "Staff Only" doors again.
Then there was Take That. WOW, is all I can say. They were frickin' amazing!!!! Omg, the whole show was fantastic and then with Robbie back in the mix it was just so so good.
Anyway, today's post is just going to be a picture blog since I'm still a little bit writer's blocked. Enjoy!
First up we've got Belgium, possibly my last trip before my dad moves home. Very sad, I'l miss it alot even though I've pretty much done it to death. It's a very relaxing place, if a little frustrating sometimes!
Aw, the Mannekin Pis, I'll miss him the most. This one I found in one of the galleries near Grand Place. Yes, he is peeing chocolate.
This was the Africa museum, this building was pretty much built purely to house all the stuff the Belgians pillaged from Africa. I mean "borrowed".
I was quite excited about this. It's a lamp made from the plastic thingys your contact lenses come in. I know, AMAZEBALLS. I'm TOTALLY gonna make one. Totally.
Bruges.
Swans, in Bruges!
A sink with goldfish in it! I want I want I want!!!! I found this in Bruges.
Peach beer, yum!
Ok, so technically I've never been to actual Holland but Bruges is in the flemish part of Belgium and they speak Dutch so, y'know.... they had them in a shop and I had to have them. They're really snug and comfy if you must know.
Finally found the pub with the skeleton in the window....
...And drank beer from a skull....
...On a table made from a coffin. So cool!
Art Nouveau House, Brussels.
Next up was London:
The Cabinet War Rooms, this was one of my favourites. It's like this big underground set of rooms and tunnels where Churchill and the cabinet and their staff all stayed during bombing in the Second World War.
No, I didn't go up in it because I don't have a great head for heights but my boyfriend wouldn't even go up with me if I'd even wanted to :(
Me and Robbie. Besties.
The Science Museum, oooooh!
This might not look interesting but it's cool because it' actually a department store and it's in this really cool Tudor style building and it's all wooden decor inside. It's like travelling back in time to do your shopping! They sell like fabrics and carpets and wool and stuff. I could live in it.
Nom. Outrageously expensive but nom.
HMS Belfast
More underground stuff. Underground stuff is kind of fascinating.
So that was my holiday. I learned one major important thing: avoid city/sightseeing holidays if you want to have nice happy clappy relationship. Lesson Learned, my friends, lesson learned.
