Isn't it wierd how things can change in a matter of hours?! Last week I was on a kind of high I guess. I saw Take That, woo! I finished in my job, which although was sad the nice big severance payment made up for it. Then I quit the job I was doing temporarily because it was a joke and I felt all empowered and in control and felt like y'know, I deserve something better than what they were offering. So then I had an appointment with FAS about my lack of a job and what I was gonna do about it and that felt very positive because it resulted in me signing up for a course in accounts and payroll which would help in the ol' job stakes. So all in all things were going well. So then on Thursday I met up with my lovely friend Irene and we went for dinner and went to see the fabulous Bridesmaids. (Hilarious!)
There, naturally, the good stuff ends I'm afraid because the universe decided that was too much happiness for one person, namely me because when I got back to my car on Thursday after the movie... clamped. €80 down and had to wait in one of the dodgiest areas in town for the de-clampers to come. The fun doesn't stop there folks. On Thursday morning I woke up with a pain in my eye, kinda like a really focussed headache around my right eye. I managed to get through the day but as the day wore on, the more I used my eye the sorer it got so on Friday morning I went to the doctor and he was pretty miffed so he sent me to the Eye and Ear hospital. There I had a glorious four hour wait only to be told they think it might be cluster headaches which I don't quite believe because they come and go and I've pretty much had a constant pain since Thursday morning. They just sent me on my merry way and told me to keep taking painkillers.
SO THEN on Saturday I organised drinks for the people I work with, y'know so we could all go out and have one last hurrah and only three people came! So that sucked. I still had a good night though, any night out that ends in eating a Charlie's is a good night in my book. I'd murder a chinese right now actually... Anyway, so the last few days have been spent in a haze of pain and drowsiness thanks to painkillers but I have managed to purchase a brand spankin' new laptop for myself since it'll probably be a while before I can afford to upgrade again. I also was very bold and booked a spa weekend in The Hodson Bay for myself and the boyfriend. That's it though, the rest of my money is in the Credit Union and is untouchable, from here on in I'm living on noodles and bread! Unemployment has never seemed so attractive! Let's hope nothing else happens to me in the meantime!
