Him: Where's the screwdriver?
Me: In the kitchen in one of the drawers.
Him: (opens one drawer) I can't find it.
Me: Try the middle drawer.
Him: (opens another drawer) Still can't find it.
Me: (starting to feel a bit stabby now) It's in one of them, just check them all.
Him: No, still can't find it.
Me: (walking into kitchen and looking in drawers and finding screwdriver) Here! Here's the fucking screwdriver! In the poxy drawer where you put it!!!!!
Him: Calm down.
Wtf?! WTF?! If there's anything that makes my blood boil it's telling me to calm down when I've just had to do EVERYTHING he's incapable of doing. Men. Gah!
I've also been getting used to having a dog around the place. I have to admit I love her to bits but she's alot more work than a cat. She requires so much attention and she cries when we're not basking in her glory. Personally, I think she has to get used to the fact that we have other things to do and can't spend every minute of every day playing with her. The man, of course, has to mollycoddle her and pander to her every whinge. Which is fine if he wants to spend all his time with her but I am a bit of a cat myself and require solitude and quiet time every day. Anyway, having a dog can be fun and it's pretty good exercise, if you can get her to walk outside the house, which is a mammoth task some days. This week we took her to the beach and on a forest walk. I love the beach. Love love love it. I love the air and the sand and the water and not matter how cold it is there's a little part of me tthat wants to go for a swim. That comes from a childhood of summers spent in the Irish sea, I've built up an immunity to the chill. I love that satisfying feeling you get from putting on your clothes again after being in the sea and you get all toasty again but you feel refreshed and your skin feels all exfoliated and smooth. Love it! Plus don't you always sleep better after a day at the beach?! Here's the Scullmeister enjoying her first trip to the beach:
Eating sand. As you do.
That's me in the water with the pale pasty legs. Whaddya gonna do, I'm Irish! I'm wearing wellies but there was actually a hole in them so I got soaked. Should have brought my togs, I totally would have gone in for a swim!
She learned to swim! Yay! She's so cute!
She looks fantastic.Ihave to agree with you about the beach in winter or bad weather days it is still beautiful. Yeah dogs are hard work but worth it when you see what you get back from them.
ReplyDeleteHave to say you got the man thing spot on. If what they looking for is not staring them in the face they never ever ever thing that it may be just lying there under their nose but just under a paper or that something may be lying on top of it.....they never ever lift it up an look underneath. It is the same in every household i bet.
