A Writer Writes!

Last week I was sick, like sicker than I've ever been. I had the flu, and I know most of the time people don't believe you when you announce that you have flu so I even checked my symptoms online and the only thing I didn't have was vomiting and diahrea...diohhrea?...aw, I can never spell it but you get the drift, not everyone gets that anyway. Isn't it wierd how when you're sick you completely forget what it's like to be well, even though you only have the flu and not something really bad. Maybe I'm just a wuss but I think I may have had A REALLY BAD DOSE, it was touch and go there for a minute I'm telling you. Normally the thoughts of staying in bed for a few days sounds like bliss but after a while you kinda feel all gross and sweaty and the fridge is soooo faaar awayyyyy.

I'm better now, in case you were worried. I'm still waiting on the fruit baskets and get well soon cards I just know you all sent.

Anyway, I'm not quite sure what my point was there, possibly yet another apology for being super lazy and not blogging in a while?! I have been busy writing other stuff, A NOVEL in fact! I know, you're all like 'Omg, you're so talented and amazing! Where can I pre-order my copy?!' But don't get too excited there folks, it's for my class. I don't think I told you all about my class so that's what I'm gonna do. It's a one year course out in Maynooth, once a week and so far I'm loving it! One of my assignments is to write a chunk of a novel, I've really been getting into it, I even signed up for that National Novel Writing Month online thinking that I'm so ingenius I could write two novels but it turns out my brain can't concentrate on two stories at a time. Or maybe I'm a one hit wonder, wouldn't surprise me really, story of me life, wha' wha' wha'!

Anyway, I really enjoy writing. I know I did my degree in journalism but that's not the kind if writing I like or am goid at. In reality, trained monkeys can churn out news stories, I even remember a couple of our tutors telling us that you don't even have to be able to spell to be a news reporter so I don't even know why they even have a degree in it. Plus when you examine the news industry it kinda leaves the taste of vomit in your mouth. Even moreso now with the hacking scandal, although I'm not entirely sure we should be so surprised at the depths to which a tabloid rag would sink. My point is, I love writing and I'd love to be able to do it for a living so maybe one day I'll complete this novel, you never know. I just hope I get to do something I like as a job, I worked at something I hated for long enough. Life's too short to be miserable and sad every day isn't it?
